DIVE into the event-based browsing of linked historical media
نویسندگان
چکیده
DIVE is a linked-data digital cultural heritage collection browser. It was developed to provide innovative access to heritage objects from heterogeneous collections, using historical events and narratives as the context for searching, browsing and presentating of individual and group of objects. This paper describes the DIVE Web Demonstrator. This demonstrator uses semantics from existing collection vocabularies and linked data vocabularies to establish connections between the collection media objects and the events, people, locations and concepts that are depicted or associated with those objects. The innovative interface combines Web technology and theory of interpretation to allow for browsing this network of data in an intuitive ”infinite” fashion. DIVE focuses to support digital humanties scholars in their online explorations and research questions.

Considering Uncertainty in Modeling Historical Knowledge
Simplifying and structuring qualitatively complex knowledge, quantifying it in a certain way to make it reusable and easily accessible are all aspects that are not new to historians. Computer science is currently approaching a solution to some of these problems, or at least making it easier to work with historical data. In this paper, we propose a historical knowledge representation model takin...
متن کاملExtracting and Modeling Historical Events to Enhance Searching and Browsing of Digital Cultural Heritage Collections
Currently, cultural heritage portals limit their users to search only for individual objects and not for objects related to some historical narrative. Typically, most musea select objects for an exhibition based on the story they want to tell the public, but in digital collections this context can currently not be made explicit as the historical context is not part of the object annotations. Fr...

In their 2016 article, Saltman and Duran provide a thoughtful examination of the governance challenges involved in different care delivery models adopted in primary care and hospitals in two European countries. This commentary examines the limited potential of structural changes to achieve real reform and considers that, unless governance arrangements actually succeed in penetrating organizatio...
متن کاملConsumer Media Capture: Time-Based Analysis and Event Clustering
fractal, clustering, photography, consumer, capture, organization, management We present an analysis of consumer media capture behavior based on timestamp metadata. We show that it is bursty and is not well described by a Poisson model. We show that it is in fact a fractal process, with fractal dimension characteristic of the capturer. We also present an algorithm for splitting consumer media i...
متن کاملHistorical Remotely Sensed Sea Surface Temperature Data for Prediction of Coral Bleaching Event in Kish Island, the Persian Gulf
The capability of Degree Heating Weeks index (DHWs) was examined for prediction of bleaching events in the coral reef communities of the Kish Island located in the north of the Persian Gulf. In doing so, weekly Sea Surface Temperature (SST) values (in 1°×1° spatial resolution) prepared by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), coupled with documented bleaching events, such...
